Eric Johnson There's no reason not to love this album - the songs are all good. My favorite track after a couple listens is Too Bad So Sad, but that may change with time. I like his take on Maybellene. I really liked both versions of Nobody Home and the contrast between them. The "B Side" concept was a winner on this album. Favorite track: Too Bad So Sad.

The four musicians went in to the session to record ten songs. What they ended up with is a double-album offering commentary on the human condition in the way that only Chris Smither can. The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues and bluegrass styling. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'. A deep sense of grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, all others composed by J.T. That they sound so good confirms what a great songwriter J.T. really was. tideracer
